These are the main terms that apply when you book a sailing tour or rent a boat from Blue Bay Bonaire. This way you know exactly where you stand before you go.
Booking and payment
- Your booking is final once we have confirmed it.
- You can pay in cash or by Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover.
- We confirm private charters and reservations on request within 24 hours.
Cancellation
- If you cancel 30 days or less before departure, we charge a cancellation fee of 25%.
- If you cancel 14 days or less before departure, the cancellation fee is 50%.
- If you cancel 7 days or less before departure, the cancellation fee is 100%.
If we are unable to sail ourselves, for example because of the weather, we will work with you to find a new date.
Boat rental
- The minimum age to rent a boat is 21.
- In addition to the rental price, you pay a fuel charge of $15 per day.
- We ask for a deposit of $500, which you get back afterward if the boat is returned undamaged.
- You do not need a boat license. Before departure, our crew gives you a briefing; please be at the dock 15 minutes before departure for this.
- Diving from rental boats is not permitted. Operating a boat under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited.
On the water
Everyone on board needs a valid Stinapa Nature Tag. The tag is required by law and you buy it online in advance. In addition, the rules on the water of the Bonaire National Marine Park apply, such as mooring at the yellow moorings and keeping a distance of 50 meters from the coast and other vessels.
